MRP

The MRP module has become one of the most powerful features of FactoryMaster, providing substantial savings in planning time and effort, whilst ensuring that works orders and their associated material and component requirements are raised / ordered in a timely manner.

Many companies traditionally generate their work orders and purchase orders ‘back to back’ with their customers’ orders, and this is often considered to be the only way of working. However, where you have volatile and ever-changing requirements from your customers then you face the recurring nightmare of manually changing all the underlying works orders and purchase orders whenever anything changes.

The MRP in FactoryMaster takes all this work from you – re-evaluating your requirements and suggesting where new orders need to be raised; quantities adjusted, or start dates amended.

In addition to this, the system will ‘group together’ all requirements for an item in a specified month, week or day – reducing the number of individual orders required and resulting in lower set times or delivery charges. This is especially beneficial to businesses who manufacture many assemblies or sub-assemblies which share a number of common components.

The MRP takes all of the following into consideration:

  • All pending sales orders
  • Any outstanding purchase orders
  • Any work orders currently in progress
  • Current stock of finished goods, component parts and raw materials
  • The expiry dates of this stock
  • The component requirements of manufactured assemblies
  • Manufacturing and purchase lead times are taken into account to provide a clear and concise report of all your supply and demand, summarized by month, week or day as required.

As well as the printed report, FactoryMaster provides clear on-screen enquiries of the generated data, allowing you to ‘drill down’ to examine the results in as much detail as required.

The system will also suggest where work orders and purchase orders which need to be raised to cover any deficits identified by the MRP and, upon confirmation by the user, raise these automatically.
